02What we will do
If a covered defect appears during the warranty period, we will, at our option and at no charge for parts or labour:
- repair the device, remotely where possible (for example by configuration or firmware update);
- replace it with a new or refurbished unit of the same or equivalent specification; or
- if repair or replacement is not reasonably possible, refund the price paid for the defective item.
Repaired or replacement items are covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or 90 days from repair or replacement, whichever is longer.
We aim to diagnose remote-fixable faults within 1 working day. Where a fault needs an on-site visit, we will agree an attendance time with you when you log the fault, and we attend sooner in Nairobi and Mombasa than elsewhere in Kenya.
03What is not covered
This warranty does not cover faults or damage caused by:
- accident, collision, fire, flood, theft, vandalism or deliberate damage;
- tampering, opening the device, breaking a security seal, or removal, relocation or re-installation by anyone other than Ajira or an Ajira-authorised installer;
- tampering with or disconnecting a speed governor, which may also be an offence under Kenyan traffic law;
- electrical faults in the vehicle, including supply outside the device’s 9–32 V operating range, faulty alternators, jump-starting surges, or incorrect wiring by others;
- exposure to liquids, pressure washing or conditions beyond the device’s environmental rating;
- use of accessories, cables, power supplies or storage cards not supplied or approved by Ajira;
- loss of GPS or mobile network coverage, or SIM, airtime or roaming issues outside our control;
- normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or damage to windscreens or vehicle trim during removal by others; or
- software or firmware changes not made or approved by Ajira.
Vehicle downtime, loss of use, loss of revenue, lost footage or data, and any indirect or consequential loss are not covered, to the extent permitted by law.
04How to make a claim
- Report the fault by calling 0781 81 81 81 or +254 708 076699, on WhatsApp, or by e-mail to [email protected], with the vehicle registration number, device serial number (on the device label) and a description of the fault.
- Keep the device in place. Do not remove or open it. We will first try to diagnose and fix the fault remotely.
- Save any footage you need. Download any video or data you want to keep before the device is serviced. Storage cards in replaced units are securely wiped to protect personal data.
- Book a visit if remote diagnosis cannot fix the fault. We will attend your depot or agree a time for the vehicle to come to us.
- Proof of purchase. We may ask for your invoice or job card showing the installation date.
If we find that the fault is not covered, we will explain why and give you a quotation before doing any chargeable work. If a call-out finds no fault with our equipment, a call-out fee may apply.
05Transfer
If the vehicle is sold, the remaining warranty passes to the new owner for devices that remain installed in that vehicle, provided that the change of owner is notified to us and any subscription is transferred or renewed.
06Your statutory rights
This warranty is in addition to, and does not limit, your rights under Kenyan law, including the Consumer Protection Act, 2012 and the Sale of Goods Act (Cap. 31), such as the right to goods of merchantable quality that are fit for their purpose.
This warranty is given by Ajira Telematics Limited, Harrison House, 3rd Ngong Avenue, Upper Hill, P.O. Box 46870-00100, Nairobi, Kenya. Version 1.0, last updated 21 September 2026.
